Valerie and Owen gathered with their family and friends this past Saturday afternoon for their wedding and reception in Leesburg, Virginia.  The site was the Flame Room, and I chosen to be their MC and DJ.  After he simple and elegant ceremony was conducted by Ronald E. Petrella, the guests enjoyed a cocktail hour to a mix of standards, while Tracy Leigh Photography shot all the important formal pictures.

I introduced the wedding party to "Good Time" by Alan Jackson and the newly weds went right into their first dance to "Bubbly" by Colbie Caillet. To get the party rockin', the second song was Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" and the wedding party had great fun with it!!

Maid of Honor, Melinda Lambert then led everyone in a blessing before their buffet meal and I provided a country mix to add a bit of energy to the room.

After dinner, Valerie danced with her father to "My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw and Owen danced with his mother to "Forever Young" by One Direction. Open dancing, the cake cutting, a bouquet and garter  toss followed as family and friends actively participated in the celebration.

All too soon, Owen and Valerie gathered with their guests on the dance floor for their last dance; "We Are Young" by Fun!

"Thank you so much!  I really appreciated the selection you put together. It was awesome!!"

Although heavy thunderstorms were predicted, they failed to materialize last Saturday for the Reception of Brian and Jessica Albers. Held at the  lovely Patriot Hall in Vienna, Virginia, coordinator Janet Renner made sure all was ready with the guests arrived. I greeted them with a Big Band mix that kept the atmosphere lively.

The Wedding Party was introduced to "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" by The Darkness. Brian and Jessica then went into their first dance to "Good Life" by One Republic, a dance that was very well choreographed. Toasts by the Father of the Groom and Best man, Gus Albers, Matron of Honor Emily Freund, Bride's Maid Peggy Donnelley and Father of the Bride, Edward Barker preceded a lovely stations dinner.

The Father/Daughter Dance to "Moon River" and the Mother/Son Dance to "A Song for My Son" kicked off the dancing. Brian and Jessica had picked out a really great list of songs for their reception; music that got everyone involved! Single ladies gather for the Bouquet Toss to the sounds of Pat Benatar's "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" and "Lady's Night" by Kool & the Gang brought out the men for the Garter Removal and Toss! Photographer Peter Kiesel not only got pictures of the entire event, but provided a photo booth area for guests to enjoy.

Reluctantly, the reception came to an end with Nat King Cole singing "L.O.V.E!" There was no doubt that everyone had a wonderful time!

"I wanted to let you know from the bottom of my heart how much I appreciated you helping us make it through this special time!"

The family and friends of Carolyn and Jesse Cossibba gathered this past Saturday night at Maggiano's in Tyson's Corner to witness and celebrate their marriage. This small , but joyous event began with a ceremony conducted by Brian Vaughn. Carolyn processed in to a lovely string version of "Here Comes the Bride" and the ceremony concluded with the traditional Wedding March.

After a cocktail hour, the Maggiano staff served their traditional and delicious family style Italian dinner. After the cake cutting, Jesse and Carolyn did their first dance to Christina Perri's "A Thousand Years! Their guests joined them for "Can't Help Falling In Love" by Elvis and mix of disco and Motown.

Carolyn had been nicknamed "Sunshine" by her father, so it was fitting that they shared the Father/Daughter dance to John Denver's "Sunshine on My Shoulders." Jesse and his mother then took the dance floor for the Mother/Son dance to T. Carter's "A Mother's Song."

After another broad mix of music for open dancing the reception came to a conclusion with "Kokomo," in anticipation of their upcoming Honeymoon to Aruba.

"Thank you so much for coming out. It was marvelous. Everyone seems to have enjoyed themselves."

January and February are notoriously slow months for wedding receptions, which is why I was especially glad to entertain at the reception for Joe and Janel Giambrone at the lovely Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, Virginia. The wedding party, which included Janel's three boys escorting the couple's mothers and matron of honor, was introduced to a special edit of Frank Sinatra's "Luck Be a Lady Tonight!"  After a warm standing ovation, Joe and Janel did their first dance to Train's "Only You." Their guests were thrilled to the choreography that they displayed! After a meaningful toast by Joe's uncle, Frank Giambrone and a special speech by Janel's son Jeremy, Janel's mother Joyce led everyone in a blessing before the meal.

After a delicious dinner, dancing resumed with a Mother/Daughter polka in tribute to Janel's father Joseph Van Norman. That was followed by Joe dancing with his mother, Adele, to "What a Wonderful World and guests then began the first portion of open dancing to "Come Away With Me."

Then came a fantastic three hours of dancing, where I presented a huge variety of dance sets including, Disco, Motown, 80's, a touch of the 50's, some R&B and of course, several sets of today's best dance hits!  The guests also loved to participate in several of the traditional group dances, and "Party Rock Anthem" played it twice!

The reception ended, like it began...with Frank Sinatra, this time singing, "The Last Dance!"  What a truly fabulous party!

"Thank you so much. We really appreciate it. You did an excellent job and Thank you for being a part of our wedding day!"

I ended 2011 and began 2012 with a truly musical and even magical wedding and reception for Becky and Michael Geasley at the 1757 Golf Club in Dulles, Virginia.  Because so many of Becky's family and friends are talented singers and musicians, she arranged for 10 live performances during the ceremony. I was able to provide a sound system and mix a piano, violin, guitar, a vocal microphone for 5 different singers as well as wireless lavaliere microphones for the two officiants. The lovely and moving ceremony happened just as planned.

After the ballroom was reset while guests enjoyed cocktails in the 1757 restaurant, I introduced the wedding party to "We Are Family" and Becky and Michael did their first dance to "The Way He Looks At Her" sung beautifully by Becky's daughter Molly. During the elegant dinner I provided a variety of love songs mixed with no less than five more live performance, including Becky singing "I'll Be Her" to Michael!  A lively mix of old and new dance songs kept the dance floor filled as we approached midnight and the New Year with a countdown and the traditional singing of "Auld Land Syne!

2012 saw the party move into high gear with the latest dance music and a repeat of "Wobble," a crowd favorite. As Becky and Michael finished their last dance, their family and friends went outside with sparklers to give them a truly glittering send off.  This was truly a fitting way to end a year and begin a new one! I was honored to be party of it.

Photography was done by Currie FitzHugh who has pictures posted on her blog.

"Thank you so much. You did a great job and really made our day special"

I was very excited about being the MC and DJ for Tanner and Nicole's wedding reception last Saturday night.  There were several reasons.  First, I really enjoyed working with them on the timeline and planning for their reception.  Second, they provided me with a fantastic list of requested songs. Lastly, they were having their reception at one of my favorite places, The Lightfoot in Leesburg, VA! My excitement was totally rewarded!

Their lovely ceremony was held at The Lightfoot and officiated by Rev. Kris Beckert. Ceremony keyboard music was provided by Caleb Nei, who also did the cocktail music once the service was over and the guests moved out to the piano/bar lounge. Photography for both the ceremony and reception was done by Napoleon of Roman Griney Photography.

I was thrilled to introduce the wedding party back into the Sheridan Room to "Party Rock Anthem." We immediately went into toasts, a blessing and delicious dinner with my piano jazz mix as background.

Tanner and Nicole then really set the stage for the dancing by doing a very choreographed and rehearsed first dance to "Smile" by Uncle Cracker that had everyone breaking out into tremendous applause. From that point on, guests of all ages flooded the dance floor to overflowing.  Nicole did a thoughtful Bride/Grandfather dance with both her Grandfathers to "Unforgettable." Tanner did a Mother/son dance to "Because You Loved Me."

After another great dance set, Nicole tossed her wish bouquet to "It's Raining Men." The party came to a reluctant end with their last dance to, "Say Hey (I Love You)" by Michael Franti!

"Thank you Dick!  I knew it was going to be good but....It Was Phenomenal!"

Having met with Elizabeth and her mother Sharon a couple of times, I know that a lot of thought and planning went into her Thursday evening wedding and reception at Meadowlark Gardens in Vienna. The planned outdoor ceremony moved into the Atrium because of some cold rain, but that didn't dampen anyone's spirits. The Groomsmen came in to "Marry Me" by Train. The Bridesmaids followed to "Rondeau" and Elizabeth processed to Mozart's Wedding March. The lovely ceremony, conducted by Rev. Meredith Heffner concluded with "La Rejouissance from the Royal Fireworks as the recessional.

After a delightful cocktail hour, I introduced the bridal party to "Forever" by Chris Brown. Elizabeth and Patrick, in his Navy Dress Uniform,  immediately began their first dance to Paul McCartney's "Calico skies." A warm welcome by the father of the bride, Gray Payne and blessing by Rev. Heffner brought us to a tasty buffet from Great Blue Heron Catering.

Because several of Patrick friends are in the Marines, we celebrated the Corp's Nov. 10th birthday with a rousing version of The Marine Corp Hymn and a big round of applause right after the cake cutting.

The music Elizabeth selected was perfect for her guests and the dance floor was constantly full. Based on the numerous comments I received, a great time was had by all!

"Thank you so very much! You did a great job!"

October is one of the most popular months for outdoor weddings in the Washington area because the weather is usually clear and mild with just a touch of Fall in the air! Brandy and Greg were planning their lovely ceremony under the huge tree in front of the Manor House at the Marriott Ranch in Hume Virginia. Unfortunately, a rare, one day snow storm roared through the area, moving the ceremony indoors and making the entire event unique and memorable!

Family and friends gathered to witness the simple but elegant ceremony in front of the large and glowing fireplace at one end of the ranch pavilion. After a refreshing cocktail hour the wedding party was introduced to the "Top Gun Anthem" and a tasty buffet dinner was served. Greg and Brandy kicked off the dancing after dinner to "You" by Chris Young and their guests were invited to join in. After a session of open dancing, the newly weds cut their beautiful cake and followed that with the Father/Daughter, Mother/Son and Dollar Dances.

Their guests enjoyed a broad selection of music from contemporary dance to country. With a large number of kids on hand, we even got them and their parents involved by playing the "Hokey Pokey!" Greg and Brandy got all their special requests played and ended the reception dancing to "If Tomorrow Never Comes" by Garth Brooks. Although the weather brought about a number of changes, a good time was had by all!

"Thanks so very much!"

Another week of overcast skies and rain made way for a beautiful Saturday of sunshine and warm temperatures for Melissa and Chris and their outdoor ceremony under the trellis at Algonkian Regional Park in Sterling, Virginia.  I was able to provide gathering music, as well as songs for the processionals and recessional and a wireless lavaliere microphone for the officiant.

When the lovely ceremony was finished, guests enjoyed a very nicely presented array of hors d'oeuvres and open bar in the foyer of the conference center, while I provided a nice mix of chamber music in the background.  With the formal pictures over, the doors were opened to the very attractive ballroom and I introduced the wedding party to "I Gotta Feeling!" Chris and Melissa then did their first dance to Brad Paisley's "Mud On The Tires."  After a truly meaningful series of welcomes and toasts, everyone enjoyed a delightful buffet dinner service from Great Blue Heron Catering to the sounds of my piano jazz mix.

The dancing began with the Father/Daughter Dance to "I Loved Her First" followed by the Mother/Son dance to "Into the Mystic." Melissa and Chris had used my online music selection tool to pick a really great playlist of dance music and everyone had something they enjoyed dancing too before the evening was over with a grand sparkler exit!

"Thank You! We really appreciate that you did a very good job and please let me have some of your business cards for my friends!"

The week started off with rain, rain and more rain, but Saturday dawned with sunny skies and temperatures approaching 80! It was the perfect day for the outdoor wedding for April and Jeff.  This was only fair, because April had worked hard tweaking her wedding and reception to meet her unique expectations. We were in constant touch making sure the timeline and related music reflected her every need and desire.

April arrived in a classic 1967 red Mustang and the short and simple ceremony was highlighted by music from The Doors and readings from "Lord of the Rings!"

While H. Patel from Studio 25 Photography took formal pictures, the guests enjoyed a Frank Sinatra mix for cocktails, while songs from Slayer greeted the wedding party during introductions.  April and Jeff went right into their first dance, "So This Is Love" from the movie, Cinderella!

After a wonderful buffet dinner, the guests got down to some real celebrating....dancing to a very wide variety of music, from Motown to metal, dance to hip-hop. The guests were having such a good time that the party was extended by two hours!

"Dick, Thank you so much for doing so fantastic on our wedding day! Everyone loved you. You made the day! Truly! I will be sending all my friends & Family your way!"

I have the greatest career in the world! I get to entertain people gathered to celebrate the wedding of two people in love.  I also get to work with some of the nicest people in the world including Justin and Monica Grover who got married this past Saturday at Belmont Country Club in Ashburn, VA.

The weather was perfect for their ceremony outside the Manor House. After the ceremony concluded, the guest enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres inside that historic building, while Jennifer McMenamin took the important formal wedding pictures. Right on schedule, the guests were ushered into the adjoining ballroom which was decorated with lovely up-lighting from Superlative Events. Monica wanted the introductions to be fun, so the wedding party literally danced into the the room to "U Can't Touch This!"

After a delectable served salad/buffet dinner, Justin and Monica took center stage with their first dance to "Lucky!"  The Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dance to "Your Song" immediately followed.  After that, the guests joined in and the dance floor was packed for the rest of the evening, except for the other special events like the cake cutting, bouquet toss, garter removal and toss.  I was truly impressed with the song list they had created online and even asked Justin if he had been a DJ in a past career.  He said no, they had just spent a lot of fun time researching and picking the music they liked. And to brighten this up a bit more...they had glow necklaces passed out to all the guests!

After the last dance, their guests hurried downstairs to get their sparklers lit to give Justin and Monica a truly Grand Exit! And talking about really nice people, Monica took time before leaving on her Honeymoon to post a very complimentary review on Wedding Wire.

"Thank you so much.  It was unbelievable!  Everybody had such fun. We'll certainly recommend you to our friends!"

Kevin & Cameron's reception offered a new experience...working with another DJ!  Because they wanted both the best in contemporary US music and some traditional Hungarian music, I was fortunate to work with DJ Tomix, who had the desired ethnic songs. Held at the lovely Heritage Hunt Country Club in Gainesville, I used my "George" automated system to provide a Martini Lounge Mix as background for the cocktail hour and my Yorkville system in the large and lavish ballroom.

After taking pictures on the golf course, the Bridal Party was introduced to "I Gotta Feeling."  Kevin and Cameron then went into their first dance: "Bless the Broken Road." After a delicious meal, the father of the bride, Steven Zaboji, gave a heart felt welcome which was followed by meaningful toasts from the Best Man, Matt Zdancewicz and the Maid of Honor, Rimi Marwaha.  After the cake cutting, the dancing started in earnest, pausing only for the bouquet and garter toss.  The dance floor was packed as I announced the last dance and encouraged everyone to join the sparkler salute as the newly weds left their reception.

All the planning that Cameron and her mother, Susan, put into this reception came together perfectly and everyone had a wonderful time!

"Thank you so much!  Everything went so well!"

"Hi, Dick and Tamas - Thank you so much for everything for Saturday. Everything was great! Lots of energy - LOVED the BParty coming in to different "dance" concepts. Haha - so fun. Can't wait to see your 3D video, Tamas. :-)"

It was a perfect day for the perfect wedding and reception, and the Lansdowne Resort was the perfect location for Holly and Adam. I had worked with them extensively on the ceremony music, researching and auditioning many versions of the songs they wanted. When the time came for the ceremony, they got exactly the music they so much loved and the wedding was flawless.

As guests exited the ballroom for the cocktail hour, they were greeted by my "Martini Mix" of wonderful instrumental jazz that you would have heard at a martini bar in the '60s. Meanwhile, Ron Jones of Fairfax Weddings was getting some truly memorable pictures and the efficient and friendly staff at Lansdowne reset the ballroom for the reception lunch and dancing.

Holly and Adam along with their parents and wedding party were introduced back into the ballroom to Sinatra's, "Come Dance With Me." They immediately went into their first dance; "Crazy Love" by Van Morrison.  After the blessing of the wine and bread as well as some meaningful toasts, everyone enjoyed a delightful lunch while listening to my popular "Piano Jazz" mix. Dancing restarted with "Unforgettable" for the Father/Daughter & Mother/Son dance and everyone joined in for a variety of great songs from the 80's selected by the newly weds.

"Thank you Dick, you did a great job. Everything went near perfect thanks to your help!"

Rebecca Parker and Justin Fowler had their family and friends gather at the Compass and Anchor Club in Sterling Virginia for their Wedding and Reception Celebration and I was honored to be their MC and provide music for both.  The Bride's Maids entered to Bach's "Air on a G String" while Rebecca walked down the aisle to a beautiful harp version of "Here Comes the Bride." After a lovely ceremony Justin and Rebecca entered their married life to the traditional Wedding March.

Chamber music filled the air during the cocktail hour before the Wedding party was introduced to "When The Day Met The Night." After a delicious dinner service the dancing began with the duet version of "From This Moment On" and continued with a wide variety of music selected by our new weds. The party ended with "What a Wonderful World" and was followed by a delightful exit through a shower of bubbles provided by the guests.  Needless to say, a good time was had by all!

"Thanks Dick it was GREAT!"

Joanne and Andrew Rhodes had just finished their last dance as I invited their guests to leave the hall, get some glow sticks and prepare to give the newly weds a dramatic send off.  Then, as if scheduled, all the lights went out, bathing the social hall at Beth El Hebrew Congregation in the warm glow of candle light from the tables and the hallway with glow stick light from the guests. Dramatic, memorable and only later, did anyone realize, that the light outage hadn't been planned, but was the result of a storm passing through Alexandria!

But this was that wonderful reception where Joanne's great planning didn't stand in the way of spontaneous enjoyment! Like when she decided to dance to their entrance song, "Build Me Up Butter Cup," or skip the romantic first dance and instead have me play a long hora medley that got the dance floor packed!  That was followed by a fascinating set of Israeli dances taught by community member Ethan Halpren!

The toasts by their children and family were funny, yet meaningful. The food was great, everyone enjoyed the music they had selected and I have no doubt that all the guests had a great time at a truly memorable wedding and reception!

"Thank you so much Dick, you did a great job!"

Sunday, July 31, was the perfect day and The Morrison House in Alexandria was the perfect location for the intimate wedding and reception that Jeff and Suzette planned. The ceremony was held in the parlor with A.C. Warden conducting a truly moving service.  In addition to "The Brandenberg Concerto #3," "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring," and "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz, Karena, the matron of honor, sang the moving "I will Be Here."

A cocktail hour followed in the adjoining Library as I provided songs by Colbie Caillat, Jack Johnson, Jason Marz, Sara Bareilles and John Meyers.

I then invited the guest to the Louis XVI Room where "George," my computerized DJ system, provided a wireless mic for introductions and toasts as well as two hours of carefully mixed Standards the Jeff and Suzette had requested during the elegant dinner.

After dinner, everyone came back to the Parlor for the cake cutting and dancing. It was a pleasure working again with photographer Ron Jones of Fairfax Weddings, who got some great shots and both Suzette and Jeff really appreciated how well the event went!

"Thank you so much for playing all of our weird music. It turned out shorter than we thought, but it was great fun!"

Patricia Fenlon spent over 14 months thoughtfully making plans for her Wedding Reception. Not only did we meet to create an initial timeline, but she also used my online planning tool to make sure no detail was overlooked. This past Saturday at the Hilton Garden Inn in Fairfax Virginia, it all came together just as planned.

I particularly liked their choice of "Bad Boys" from "Cops" for the introductions, especially since Josh is a Virginia State Trooper!

Their first dance upon being introduced was the lovely Mary Chapin Carpenter version of "Grow Old With Me." Other special songs included Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World" for the Father/Daughter dance, "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts for the Mother/Son Dance and Alan Jackson's "Remember When" for a special Parents Dance.

After a truly rockin' evening, Josh and Tricia left to a HUGE sparkler display and send off to cap a perfect wedding reception!

"Thank you for everything....it was GREAT....I had a blast!"

Erika and Tom had been carefully planning their Wedding and Reception for more than a year. Their plans all came together perfectly this past Saturday at the Hilton Garden Inn in Fairfax Virginia.  They had a lovely ceremony in the hotel's outdoor garden area.

While photographer Anne Lord took the formal after ceremony pictures, the guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres inside the comfortably air conditioned hotel.

I introduced the wedding party to Barry Lewis Polisar's "All I Want is You" and Tom and Erika went into their first dance with Glen Campbell singing "Grow Old With Me."

After a wonderful buffet dinner, the dancing got started with the Father/Daughter Dance ("Here Comes the Sun") and Mother/Son Dance ("Times of Your Life.")  With a large group of Virginia Tech Hokies in attendance, "The Hokey Pokey" was a must play. This group knew how to party and the dance floor was packed all night long! Everyone had a fun and exciting evening!

"We just wanted to thank you again for your services at our wedding reception.  Everything was just so perfect!  Your attention to detail and organization were huge factors in making our small wedding a success.  We reviewed you on Wedding Wire and have already recommended you to one of our friends.

Enjoy the rest of your summer and thank you again for everything!"

Jeff and Marla had to play cat and mouse with some rain, but their wedding and reception at the Airlie Center in Warrenton happened right according to plan! The reception was held  in the huge tent next to the main building. The size meant there was plenty of space for all the guests and a large dance floor at one end. Photos were taken by Ciao Bella Photos, also in Warrenton.

Their wedding party was introduce to the Beatles singing "Ob-La-De Ob-La-Da" and was immediately followed by toast from Karen Riding, the mother of the bride and groomsman Peter Sullivan. Guest then enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner.

For the their first dance, Marla and Jeff chose "Leather and Lace" by Stevie Nicks and Don Henley and followed that with a combined Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dance to "Forever Young" by Bob Dylan. After that it was dance music for everyone!  I know how hard Marla and Jeff had worked on planning their wedding and reception and it all came together like a dream come true!

"Thank you so much for making this such a special evening. Everybody danced...you were awesome!"

Richard and Elizabeth sure know how to make an entrance. They received a standing ovation from their family and friends, they waltzed into the atrium and onto the dance floor at Meadowlark Gardens in Vienna, Virginia to the lovely "Lover's Waltz" performed by Jay Unger and Molly Mason!

But that was only the beginning of a unique reception that included a live performance of "Bless the Broken Road" by Elizabeth's cousin Margaret Telhaug and a series of Turkish and Assyrian songs and dances led by the father of the bride, Joseph Malekzadeh!  The party culminated with a great 80's dance set!

With a huge range of diverse music for dancing and listening, everyone had the opportunity to be thoroughly entertained!

"Thank you so much we really appreciate it!"

It was a picture perfect day as Jessica and MacKenzie exchanged vows in the lovely Historic Chapel at St. Rose of Lima Parish in Gaithersburg. Jessica had grown up in this community and having her wedding and reception there was important.  The pastor, Rev. Msgr. Paul M. Dudziak, was the presider.

After the ceremony, family and friends gathered in the newly remodeled Woodlands Room  for refreshments and hors d'oeuvres while waiting for the bridal pictures to be finished. Introductions were done to "Happy Together" by the Turtles and after a warm and heart warming welcome from Jessica's father William, and a champagne toast by Best Man, Matt Marshall, the dancing got under way with their first dance to Billy Joel's, "For the Longest Time."

After a rockin' dance set, everyone enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner provided by Javier Zerpa of JZ Events.  The party continued with the dance floor packed, thanks to an excellent playlist selected by the newly weds.

"Mr. Dyszel, I want to thank you. Everyone had a great time in large part to your music selection. You did an excellent job!"

On Sunday, May 29, Loris Smith and Michael McCoy, exchanged vows in the lovely Courtyard of the Dulles Holiday Inn. Family and friends then enjoyed delicious hors d'oeuvres and cocktails.

I was excited that they chose "DJ Got Us Falling In Love" as their introductory song, which was followed by their first dance to "You Are So Beautiful" by Joe Cocker.  The Holiday Inn served up a wonderful buffet dinner and I was able to provide some great dance mixes from the songs selected by Loris and Michael. We managed to get everyone involved from the youngest kids to seniors.

"You were Awesome! Everybody was so complimentary....especially the young people. You really knew how to kick butt and read the crowd!"

It was a beautiful late Spring afternoon as Larry and Jennifer exchanged vows in the Great Room of the picturesque Stone Manor Country Retreat in Lovettsville, Virginia! After the ceremony, family and friends enjoyed cocktails and passed hors d'oeuvres in the Stone Garden, to the sounds of light contemporary jazz.

As the sun began to set, everyone proceeded to the pavilion for a delicious plated salad/buffet dinner, catered by Chef Author Clark Jr. of Grandale Farm.

Jennifer and Larry started the dancing with a classic wedding song from Restless Heart..."I'll Still Be Loving You!" I then entertained them with a wide variety of dance music from almost every genre.

"It was wonderful, seamless, flawless, perfect!"

Cara and Christopher saw all their hard work and planning for their wedding and reception come together perfectly at Lansdowne Country Club in Leesburg Virginia on Saturday, May 21.  Not taking any chances after a week of constant rain, the ceremony took place in the enclosed Pavilion.  Of course, the weather was sunny and warm, making the shade very welcome.

After a memorable ceremony where I played "Canon in D," a beautiful version of "Here Comes the Bride" on Harp and Clarke's "Trumpet Voluntary," everyone walked down to the Country Club patio for an hour of cocktails and hors d'oeuvres with chamber music in the background.

Guests were treated to an elegant dinner in the ballroom and the dance music was as varied and unique as the guests. Since the 21st was National Armed Forces Day, Cara and Christopher paid tribute to our men and women overseas with Toby Keith's "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue!"

"Thank you, You were amazing. I'm going to send you a thank you note and recommend you to everyone. It was wonderful!"

Friday, May 20, saw a week of rain come to an end so that Rick and Becca could have the perfect outdoor wedding at the Rust Manor House near Leesburg, VA. After the ceremony, guest enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres inside the manor and then everyone came down the hill to the permanent tent that had been tastefully decorated in contemporary black and white. The whole event was coordinated by Jenny Burke of August Events and Promotions, LLC and came off without a hitch.

After a delightful dinner, catered by Chef Author Clark Jr. of Grandale Farm, I provided guests with an outstanding selection of dance music, picked by Becca and Rick and no one, myself included, wanted to the party to end!

"I'm not a big dancer, but everyone was out there at some time and that's HUGE! Thanks so much!"

Sunday's continuous chance of rain kept everyone on edge, but the outdoor ceremony for Joe and Thalita Trimmings was not to be deterred. It was a conducted in front of the historic Bristow Manor and featured several live songs performed by Kerey Trimmings.

Once inside the Manor, the guests were treated to a refreshing cocktail hour with some excellent hors d'oeuvres.  A wonderful buffet was presented by the fine staff in the banquet all.

The song playlist, selected by Joe and Lita, offered their guests a wide variety of music styles and a chance for everyone to dance and have a great time!

"Thank you so much, everything sounded fabulous! I've been passing along your name and contact info to friends that are engaged. Hopefully they call and set up an appointment with you!! You were great! "

Bechir and Amanda came to me just a couple of weeks ago when they had a problem with another vendor. We met, I learned what they wanted for their reception and we put together a plan. Since then we kept in touch, fine tuned the details and it all came together without any problems, Saturday afternoon at the Waterford Fair Oaks.  It was a small but splendid event and a good time was had by all!

"I am sorry I haven't had the time to thank-you for taking great care of Bechir and I last-minute when our vendor bailed out on us three weeks prior to our wedding. You where very patient with us and your expertise helped me put together a wonderful music itinerary for the wedding. Everybody at the wedding had a great time. Without you as our DJ, I am not sure if we would've had a great deal of fun! Thanks again. I would be your reference anytime! Hopefully we will have business together in the future.
Thanks again and God Bless,

Amanda and Bechir"

Planning a wedding reception while living out of town is not easy, but Colleen Schorn and Evan Bolick pulled it off beautifully! Not only was their planning great, but the weather cooperated for a memorable outdoor wedding ceremony in the garden and reception inside the Mount Vernon Inn

The staff, dressed in colonial costumes, provided wonderful service. The food was warm and tasty and the broad selection of music, that they selected, kept the party going into overtime!

"Hi Dick,

We wanted to send a quick thank you for the great job you did and for agreeing to stay later. The wedding was a blast - definitely the best wedding we have ever been to!

Thanks again,
Colleen and Evan"

On a lovely early Spring afternoon, Steven and Kathleen Fox joined their family and friends to celebrate their wedding at the George Mason Inn, on the campus of George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. After a delightful cocktail hour, the doors to the ballroom opened and Steve and Kathleen made their grand entrance to one of my favorite entrance themes, "Sirius" by the Alan Parson's Project.  They then went into their first dance to the song, "Wave On Wave" by Pat Green.

After a wonderful dinner, the party began actually a bit ahead of schedule thanks to photographer Ron Jones of Fairfax Weddings, who is not only good, but very efficient!

After more than 2 1/2 hours of constant dancing to every genre of music imaginable, the reception wrapped up to "Closing Time" by Semisonic and Steve and Kathleen began their journey through life together.

"Thank you so much. It was fun, but you were right, my guests really did want to see us out on the dance floor. The more we danced, the more they did!"

Amber and Dan Jones eloped in February, but had a wonderful party for family and friends at the Cherry Blossom Restaurant and Banquet Hall in Sterling Virginia. This was the first time I worked there and was very impressed with the room, the food and the staff. It's a bit hidden but just off Route 7.

The party was a casual affair with Amber and Dan using Stained's "Tangled Up With You" for their first dance and M.J.'s "Thriller" as their last dance!

I got this email from Amber's mother Kim:

"Thank you so much for the work you did at our event last night! You helped to provide structure, direction and fun! Your input prior to the party was invaluable and of course proved 100% true! It was a real delight to have someone with expertise, experience and personality running the show! I did not worry for one minute that it would go well! If ever we can offer a referral please feel free to use us in that way!"

Caitlin and Jason after their Sounds Fabulous Wedding Reception

When Caitlin and Jason told me many months ago that they were planning an outdoor wedding in mid November, I was skeptical. But through out the planning, Caitlin was always confident that the day would be perfect, even though I suggested a "Plan B" for the potential 40 degrees and rain. Well, Caitlin was right on the ...money! Saturday afternoon on the terrace of the Meadowlark Botanical Gardens near Vienna, Virginia.  Jason and Caitlin Morris were married under sunny skies, no wind and 65 degrees of temperature!!

It truly was a perfect wedding and reception which included a truly beautiful and delicious food service from "Catering by Uptown." I thank
both of them for including me as their DJ/MC on their perfect day!

"Thank you for a wonderful evening! You have been so supportive though out this whole event - and were very grateful. Thank you!!"

Ben and Ava had a wonderful time with Sounds Fabulous DJ service in Virginia

WOW! That's the only way I can describe the wedding and reception for Ben and Ava Alexander last night. A classic and simple ceremony as the sun set on a Virginia horse farm followed by a fantastic celebration under a three pointed white tent with pennants flying. Ben's Marine Corp buddies added a military dash to the festivities including a cake cutting with sword. The party went on past the scheduled midnight end and a great time was had by all!
